2023 in Review

In December, Canadian Dog Fancier Weekly featured the Basset Hound. We had ads designed for 4 of our hounds in that issue and couldn't be happier with how they turned out!

As 2023 draws to a close, we would love to acknowledge what our hounds have accomplished.

Dallas finished his CKC Grand Champion title just 1 year after earning his very first point. He also finished his ABI Grand Championship, his UKC Championship, as well as all 4 elements of his UKC Novice Nosework title, his Advanced Container title, and has 1 qualifying run each for his Advanced Interiors and Advanced Exteriors. He tried a day of lure coursing, but quickly decided that chasing a bag in a circle wasn't for him.

Charlotte completed her CKC Championship after losing countless months to injury. Since we figured out what she kept hurting herself on in the yard, the injuries have ceased. As a result, she was also able to complete her ABI Jr Championship, her UKC Coursing Aptitude title and is just one qualifying run away from also completing her CKC Chase Ability title.

Memphis finished both his CKC Championship AND Grand Championship titles this year. Having finally settled down in the ring, he shows like a true pro now. He also achieved an ABI Best in Show, and is currently ranked the #2 Basset Hound in UKC (Canada & USA) and the #11 Basset in CKC (Canada). Memphis also figured out that he loves to run, and was able to complete his UKC Coursing Aptitude title.

Monroe, on her big debut, achieved a CKC Best Baby Puppy in a very competitive hound Group, and a few weeks later, just days after turning 6 months old, was awarded Best of Opposite Sex over a Special under an international judge (Australia) for her very first CKC point. Monroe shows incredible promise in the ring, already achieving a Best Novice Puppy in Show (UKC) and multiple Reserve Best Novice Puppy in Shows (UKC).

We are planning 2 litters for 2024, so keep an eye here and on our Facebook Page for updates!
