Well, that's a wrap!
It was a weekend for the books, that's for sure. We spent an amazing time with friends, old and new, extended family and anyone else who wanted to drop in. Our humble setup has had to grow considerably to accommodate those who have found it a warm, inviting and safe space to hang out and unwind after a stressful day of showing. We shared great food, lots of drinks, a ton of laughs, stories, knowledge and a wonderful time together. It was the kind of weekend that warm memories are made of.
The Dakoozi crew did amazing this weekend. With a big breed entry, there were tons of points to share.
Big boy Memphis rocked it, and came out with 5 more points towards his GChB (Grand Champion Bronze) title. A Best of Breed and Group 2nd came from judge Kenneth Chuah (Malaysia), and a Select Dog was awarded by judge Veronica Mercer (Ontario).
Monroe added 6 points towards her GCh (Grand Champion) title with 3 Best of Opposite wins from judges Kenneth Chuah, Veronica Mercer and Pedro Gonzalez-Teja (Guatemala).
Little Izzy secured 2 Winners Female and Best of Winners awards from judges Antonio Almeida (China) and Graham Cruse (Australia). This added 4 points towards her Championship title. She's SO close!
The two youngest stars, Ace and Pepper, debuted in the Jr Puppy Class for their first time in the big dog ring at 7 months old. They did absolutely phenomenal and blew me away with how poised and confident they were. Tails always wagging, they greeted judges happily and gaited around the ring perfectly. They both need some work to learn that show dogs don't sit when you stop moving LOL, but that will come with time.
Ace received Best of Winners in 4 of his 6 shows entered, and a huge Best Puppy in Group from judge Antonio Almeida. This puts him at 8 points for the weekend!
Pepper secured 6 points by going Winners Female in 4 of 6 shows.
Our friends and their hounds did fantastic as well, with everyone getting a little something here and there.
I honestly could not be more proud of our pack and what they accomplished this weekend. In total, 53 points were shared among the Bassets.
I want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for the incredible time we had this weekend. Going to miss you all for the next few weeks until we all come together again!
