Litter Announcement!

If you follow our Facebook page, you may already have heard, but we have exciting news to share!

Dakoozi Hounds is excited to announce the "Gettin' Tipsy" litter due around July 23, 2025!

We had quite the adventure to get this breeding. Charlotte, as always, decided to do everything on her own time, and after repeated progesterone tests and delayed heat cycles, we finally got the go ahead, dropped everything and took the 10 hour car ride into Quebec for a weekend to get it done!

We are SO excited for this pairing! Gibbs was Canada's #1 Basset Hound for 2022, 2023 and 2024. He ranked among the top 10 in the hound group consistently. Charlotte came back out briefly in 2025 to complete her Grand Championship title and is an avid Sprinter with a stellar prey drive. Both dogs are affectionate, lovely examples of what a basset hound is.

We are thrilled for this highly anticipated breeding!

Her pregnancy has been confirmed, mama Charlotte is growing daily, and we have a puppy count x-ray booked for July 16th.

Applications for puppy homes will be open once we have an idea of the number of babies brewing in there. Please check back to the site after July 16th to fill out your application.

As a reminder, applications are not guaranteed to be approved. Approval is carefully considered on a case-by-case basis and pre-approval will be provided to families as we see fit. We will not be accepting deposits until puppies are born, healthy and thriving. Please be patient! This is not a process we rush.
